I really enjoyed listening to Viveka and her explanation of LinkedIn was useful, informative and a whole lot of fun! It’s helped me to look at and understand the platform in a new way and hopefully, realize its potential. It’s going to be interesting to see where this leads!:-) Thanks to both Viveka and Jeff!
Not only was Viveka’s presentation filled with invaluable insights, e.g., things LinkedIn doesn’t tell you about or how to do, it was a powerful reminder that making mistakes is one of the most common ways of becoming expert!
The presentation was terrific. I cannot access the quip at the end
This is the best and most useful explanation on LinkedIn that I’ve seen and heard. I appreciate that because I was in the dark.
By the way, I was able to see this video by pausing a couple times, unlike the problems with the one on Facebook.
Carolyn
Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for your comment. I saw your other one regarding Amy’s presentation and not quite sure what to tell you. I just watched the entire presentation myself this afternoon and had no trouble at all.
The only other thing I could suggest is refreshing the page and trying it again but you’ve probably already thought of that. We’re not getting any other comments about problems with the videos today.
Glad you’re enjoyed Viveka’s LinkedIn presentation…she rocks! As do all the speakers actually.
She gave me a lot of clarity on the LinkedIn piece as well.
It’s such an amazing experience to be able to share the virtual “stage” with all these geniuses in their fields.
Peace,
Jeff
Viveka’s presentation was very valuable and informative. I have been invited to join LinkedIn several times but have avoided doing so because I lacked sufficient knowledge about the platform and did not want to make any fatal errors.
With Viveka’s suggestions, I now believe I know enough to get started and explore LinkedIn.
Thank you, Viveka
Jeff: As I have been traveling, this is my first introduction to VBU. You do nice work. Thanks.
Hi Ed – thank you so much. LinkedIn is a great tool, but certainly not as intuitive as it looks! I’m glad you feel comfortable enought to delve into LI now.
I enjoyed the presentation and was pleased and surprised to find that Viveka is already part of my network! Five of my connections are connected to her connections so her profile shows up with a 3rd next to her name on her full profile. Of my connections, three are in Australia, one in Singapore and one in the USA! That shows the global strength of LinkedIn.
I’d never heard of Viveka before listening to the presentation. But I’m certainly going to take notice of what she’s been saying and get working on my profile and building relationships.
Thank you Anne- The social networking world is a little incestuous, so it is great to meet people outside of my arena! Don’t you love how connected we are in the world?
Viv
As always Viveka your information is easy to follow and SO helpful. Thank You for your great tips!
I have a question…are you aware of Ping.fm and what are your thoughts about using it? Any “down falls” we should be aware of?
I look forward to learning more from you and Jeff! Your work is…incredible.
Mary
Hi Mary – I played around with Ping about a year ago – but when Tweetdeck and Hootsuite offered the same type of platform – and to me were easier to use – I moved over to them. I am hearing more and more about ping again, so should probably take another look. Thank you!
I had an interest in this presentation(watched it yesterday but no time to comment) as I was encouraged to set up a Linked-In account through my coaching organization but never understood what it was about. As Viveka says, there are not many help notes to explain. Now I can update my profile and perhaps find a way of letting it work for me. I have received spam from it and was tempted to close the account, however I see more benefit in it now.
Thanks for the clarity and encouragement to step up and make it happen!!
Thank you both, Jeffrey and Viveka!!!
Thank you Dan –
I always say my contacts are innocent until proven guilty, but once I get something spammy from someone (and of course – all our definitions of spam differ from the most innocent sales page to relentless harassment) I unconnect from them. If its really bad (swamp land in Florida or a million bucks in Nigeria) I will report them to LinkedIn and their profile – if abused – will be closed down. Don’t let a couple idiots keep you from getting making use of this valuable tool!
Viv
I have missed these sessions because of time and was really looking forward to this one because you said it would be available until Sunday however when I went on the video is unavailable.
Hi Gail,
Try refreshing the page…there don’t appear to be any problems with the videos on our side. Occasionally the video platform has a glitch, but we haven’t heard of any others this week.
By the way, I was just looking at your side. Admirable work…I can see several ways you could “raise the bar” in your coaching work right away if you want to chat about that (FYI, in case you don’t know or didn’t figure it out through VBU, my core coaching practice is “coaching coaches to make more money doing what they love”).
Connect with me on Facebook and let’s chat: http://www.Facebook.com/JeffreyHoward
And be sure to join our VBU Facebook page too: http://www.iLikeVBU.com
Talk to you soon.
